Born on 10th August, 1961. Did B.Com. and LL.B. from G.S. College of Commerce and Economics, Nagpur and University College of Law, Nagpur, respectively. Enrolled as an Advocate on 30/09/1985. Started legal career by joining chambers of his father late Shri M.P. Badar, who was Government Pleader and Public Prosecutor at Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court. Practiced at the Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court. Also practiced at various Tribunals including Labour and Industrial Courts. Was appointed as Honorary Assistant to the Government Pleader in 1991 and thereafter as Assistant Government Pleader and Additional Public Prosecutor in the High Court of Judicature at Bombay, Nagpur Bench, from February, 1992 and October, 1994 respectively. Was Standing Counsel for Nagpur Improvement Trust, Nagpur Municipal Corporation, Forest Development Corporation of Maharashtra Limited and Western Coal Fields Limited. Joined Maharashtra Judicial Service as a directly recruited District Judge in November, 2000. Worked as the Additional District & Sessions Judge at Akola and Wardha, Member, Industrial Tribunal at Nagpur and the Principal District and Sessions Judge at Pune. Also worked in the Registry of Bombay High Court as the Registrar (Vigilance). Worked as Principal Secretary, Law and Judiciary Department, State of Maharashtra from December 2013 till elevation as Additional Judge of Bombay High Court on 3rd March, 2014. Transferred to Kerala High Court in May, 2020 and then to the Patna High Court on 20th October, 2021. After his superannuation as The Judge of High Court, Patna on 09 August, 2023, he Joined as Chairperson of Bihar Human Rights Commission on 19th October 2023. Simultaneously, he is appointed as Chairperson of the Maharashtra State Human Rights Commission and Joined that Post from 3-3-2025.

Practiced in Civil and Criminal side at Nagpur as well as Gondia. Joined as Judge, City Civil & Sessions Court, Gr. Bombay on 25th May, 1995. Conducted various types of Civil and Criminal Cases. Worked as Judge, Family Court, Mumbai in 2004-2005. Thereafter, again, worked as Judge, City Civil & Sessions Court, Mumbai from 2005 to 2008. Special Assignments allotted were of (i) POTA, (ii) MCOCA, (iii) Rape cases (iv) Anti Corruption cases. From March 2008 to 2011 appointed as Principal District & Sessions Judge at the designated Naxalite at Chandrapur. Appointed as Principal Judge, City Civil & Sessions Court, Gr. Bombay, Special Judge for P. M. L. A from March 2011 to 2013. Also worked as Member-Secretary of Maharashtra State Legal Services Authority, Mumbai from June 2013 to March 2016 and thereafter appointed as an Additional Judge, Bombay High Court on 28.03.2016. After her Superannuation as the Judge of High Court, Bombay on 25.08.2021, she joined as Presiding Officer, University &College Tribunal, Nagpur for Vidharbha Region on 29.10.2021 to 29.10.2024. From 06.02.2025, joined as Member of the Maharashtra State Human Rights Commission, Mumbai.

Selected an IPS Officer (Indian Police Service) in the Year 1989, Served as ASP (Ichalkaranji, Kolhapur), Addl. SP (Nanded), SP Aurangabad (Rural) DCP Zone-I (Nagpur Police Commissionerate), Commandant SRPF Gr.IV (Nagpur). SP (Kolhapur), Spl. IGP (Aurangabad Range), Commissioner of Police (Aurangabad), Joint CP (Pune Police Commissionerate), ADG CID Crime MS (Pune), Commissioner of Police (Navi Mumbai) (August 2018-August 2020) and ADG/DGP (Training), MS, Mumbai. Superannuated on March 31", 2023.
